Job Summary & Responsibilities:

The Associate, Investment Banking Marketing & Events’ primary responsibility will be to shape, manage and execute all events globally for the William Blair Investment Bank , which range from small client events to large industry conferences. Other responsibilities include: 
  • Serve as point of contact to and work closely with key stakeholders in the business to deliver world-class events that position William Blair Investment Bank as the premier, global boutique investment bank.
  • Partner with Director, Investment Banking Marketing to understand business objectives and execute an event strategy that supports business goals and drives revenue.
  • As a member of the Global Events Team, work to execute high-touch events and client experiences consistent with William Blair brand standards.
  • Partner with various departments in William Blair on the delivery of logistics and management of vendors, and coordinate with Hospitality, IT, A/V, Print/Mail Center, Design, Digital, et al. on all event deliverables.
  • Manage and track Investment Banking event budget and leverage marketing project management tool.
  • Manage Investment Banking sponsorship relationships, deliverables and contracts.
  • Interface with clients and attendees during events to gauge attendee experience and incorporate into process improvements and coordinate debrief and follow up meetings.
  • Build relationships throughout the firm and work cooperatively with others to accomplish objectives; understand corporate culture to respond to communication needs. 
  • Define, build and analyze metrics for monitoring event process and improving efficiency of events.  


  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in events management; financial services industry required.
  • Experience in the investment banking/M&A/private equity industry is highly preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, energetic and confident.
  • Must be well organized, and have a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and under multiple deadlines. Extremely detail oriented with strong project management skills.
  • Proficient in Salesforce, managing lists and campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Event travel as needed.
