About the Team:

You will be joining a high-performing and motivated Business & Technology team that works alongside Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Quantitative Strategists and other members of the Institutional Investment Management division. You will also have direct exposure with a dedicated team of technologists with a variety of skill-sets developing & managing our proprietary front-office research platforms. The job will afford the opportunity to work within the business and interact closely with business partners to gain insight into our proprietary research, analytics & portfolio management processes that largely represent our competitive advantage.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Extend and maintain our R based quantitative research platform.
  • Work with IT and Enterprise Systems Group to support our platforms in the cloud.
  • Work closely with data teams to ensure data quality.
  • Develop data quality and monitoring software.
  • Provide daily technical support, maintenance, and problem analysis to insure high reliability, and secure performant systems.
  • Work with Vendors and other internal platform teams to create data feeds and API’s to exchange data between systems.
  • Work with other platform teams to evolve our data models and architecture.
  • Work directly with software developers, quantitative analysts and research analysts on new data initiatives.
  • Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery. 
  • Assist in other projects for the research team as requested.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, economics or related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of programming or data engineering experience.
  • Financial industry experience, particularly in asset management and statistical analysis preferred.
  • Excellent SQL skills.
  • Experience programming in R.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with high level of commitment and enthusiasm.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work directly with business partners in a team-based environment.
