Job Summary & Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day activities of the administrative and support staff, which includes administrative assistants and executive assistants, and the Marketing and Project Support team.  Meet with bankers to stay abreast of administrative and support needs.  Identify recruitment needs and work with Talent Acquisition to fill open positions.  Manage function expenses.  Ensure function needs are understood and met.  Serve as the point person for questions or issues.  Lead and mentor administrative and support staff.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinate workload and ensure all work is completed in accordance with established William Blair policies and procedures.
  • Work with Business Operations leadership to develop and maintain policies and procedures.  Identify and drive process improvements.
  • Participate in the interview process and make hiring decisions.  Ensure successful onboarding of new staff, including appropriate training.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for all staff.
  • Keep leadership apprised of any issues.
  • Determine resource requirements, administer human resource policies and lead feedback and development process for direct reports.  Manage performance of the team.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 7+ years of experience required
  • 2+ years of management experience required
  • Strong management skills
