Job Summary & Responsibilities:

The Risk Analyst will identify and analyze areas of potential risk that threaten the assets, earning capacity or success of the organization, including predicting change and future trends and forecasting risk-related cost changes to the organization.

The Risk Analyst will focus primarily on operational risk (the impact of risky events, such as system breakdowns and employee failure or fraud), with a secondary focus on financial risk (the impact of unanticipated financial events) and regulatory risk (the impact that new legislation).

The Risk Analyst will assist in the formalization of risk management within the organization – developing and integrating the risk framework into decision-making to enable business operation with an acceptable level of identified risk. Speficic work activities will include:

•Identify and understand significant risks
•Make recommendations to tolerate, transfer, treat, or terminate risks
•Design or recommend risk controls
•Consider the risk of proposed business decisions, organizational changes, operational and system changes
•Conduct research to assess the severity of risk within a defined framework
•Present ideas via reports and presentations, outline findings and make recommendations for improvements
•Carry out quantitative analysis such as risk grading for impact likelihood
•Develop business continuity and other contingency plans to deal with emergencies, business disruptions, and other events that can negatively impact enterprise value


Qualifications:

•A bachelor’s degree concentrating in one or more of the following areas is required: accounting, economics, finance, insurance, risk management
•A bachelor's degree in another concentration, coupled with work experience directly in risk management, will be considered
•MBA or M.S. in Risk Management is preferred
•2-5 years of experience in a financial services setting is expected
