About the Team:

William Blair’s advisor solutions group is responsible for all of the sales-and-marketing functions related to the distribution of William Blair’s investment products to advisors and third-party platforms in the intermediary channel.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Apply a consultative sales approach to prospecting and deepening relationships with RIA’s, family offices, banks, wire house and B/D financial advisors.
  • Maintain high investment acumen and strong selling skills to apply to client conversations and presentations.
  • Strategically collaborate with SRD/RD to contribute innovative and entrepreneurial ideas for territory management. 
  • As an integral member of our sales group you will have access to investment team discussions and will be the central point of contact to communicate this information to clients and the broader sales team.
  • Represent William Blair at industry conferences and travel quarterly with external partner to meet and present to clients and prospects.
  • Proactively use Salesforce CRM database and sales reports to identify high potential prospects and qualify leads for Senior Regional Directors.
  • Maintain in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of all products and industry.
  • Participates in other projects as requested by management.


  • Ideal candidate will be highly motivated to take advantage of career development opportunities, seek out industry designations, post graduate degrees, and professional training via industry experts.
  • 5 + years of experience in an internal wholesaler, client service or sales capacity.
  • Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses required or must be obtained within 120 days of start date.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Solid understanding of investment products and key service requirements of financial intermediaries.
  • Excellent telephone sales and service skills.
  • Dedication to detail and follow-up.
  • Positive, can-do attitude and high level of personal initiative.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others to accomplish objectives.
