Job Summary & Responsibilities:

William Blair is seeking a Video Producer and editor within our in-house design team who will be an exceptional addition to the Brand Marketing & Communications department. As a Video Producer at William Blair, you will help build our in-house capabilities so we can tell innovative stories and integrate the brand into the William Blair experience through video, sound, and motion. The right person for this role will run the in-house studio, shoot video, edit their work and be directly involved in delivering the strategic objectives for our business. If you are someone who loves owning video production from start to finish, then this is the role for you. Responsibilities include: 
  • Plan, light, shoot, and edit a range of video styles within the William Blair studio and on location as needed.
  • Make recommendations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative brand stories and translate company messages into engaging video content.
  • Work closely with marketing and business leaders to develop concepts for video shoots and broadcast-style productions for online and social media.
  • Be independent -execute on creative direction with minimal supervision and oversight.
  • Manage the William Blair video studio workflow and have extensive knowledge with various video equipment.
  • Edit your raw video into final content. 
  • Plan and create graphics plus animations to enhance content for web, social, TV and digital signage.
  • Video post-production including file organization, editing, image cleanup, color grading, compressing, archiving, transcript, etc.
  • Develop new methods, tools, processes and training to improve how William Blair uses video for engagement, education and storytelling.
  • Maintain industry standard best practices in workflow and process to creating, organizing, and maintaining B-roll and multimedia asset libraries internally.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in video production and editing.
  • BA/BS or equivalent preferred in Film, Video Production, or Photography.
  • Must have a strong proficiency with professional video camera operation and be comfortable with principles of photography and videography.
  • Positive and collaborative attitude, process oriented, organized, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must exercise excellent critical thinking, written & verbal communication skills, and display a positive disposition towards learning and improving.
  • Expert camera knowledge and shooting skills.
  • Well versed in lighting equipment and techniques for both studio and practical shooting.
  • Strong technical and creative background in all areas of video production with emphasis on video shooting aesthetics.
  • Solid animation and motion graphics skills.
  • Occasional travel domestically and internationally for location shoots and event support.
  • Must be familiar with current software and editing technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of all pertinent Adobe Creative Cloud design software relative to video/film production and broadcast design: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition, Final Cut Pro X on a Mac platform.
  • Proficiency using DSLRs and other HD video cameras (Canon/Nikon).
  • Advanced knowledge of compression for web delivery and other conversion and duplication techniques.
  • The ability to interact professionally with firm-wide stakeholders, vendors, and partners.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and quality brand standards.
  • Able to thrive in dynamic work environments with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge and skills in Photography a plus.
  • Must have a strong portfolio to submit.
