Job Summary & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with senior analysts to execute business analysis processes, such as the pricing of IM products, omnibus sales reporting, internal management reporting, etc. Ensure high quality, timely deliverables and adherence to established policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Compile pertinent supporting data and materials and assist with various financial analyses, including budgets, forecasts, team and product P&L statements, expense tracking, revenue reconciliations, etc. Draft reports/presentations which highlight findings.
  • Prepare and draft internal management reports to be reviewed by senior staff, including quarterly management reports, sales reports, commission reports, etc. Identify trends and opportunities. Calculate variances from quarter to quarter and year-to-year. Make note of key results.
  • Create mutual fund and wrap sales reporting in compliance with established standards.
  • Calculate sales force compensation. Track and analyze key sales incentive plan metrics. Calculate plan payouts in alignment with plan design. Create reports documenting findings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Prepare data for benchmarking surveys.
  • Generate client bills for Investment Management and William Blair Select according to schedules documented in client contracts. Strive to control/limit billing exceptions. Maintain regular interaction with external billing system vendor. Answers billing questions and respond to issues from clients, vendors and less experienced staff.
  • Continue to expand financial knowledge and expertise. Develop relationships with counterparts in the external marketplace. Stay abreast of industry and regulatory changes and trends.
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff. Serve as a resource for questions and issues.
  • Recommend improvements to financial policies and procedures.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested.


  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3-5 years financial services experience required.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and an ability to work well independently and in a team setting.
  • Solid understanding of investment management business, financial analysis and business operations.
  • Delivers clear, effective communication and commits to understanding others.
  • Demonstrates initiative and persistence.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Detail orientation and commitment to meeting identified quality standards.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment.
  • Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all regulatory requirements, laws, internal policies, and professional standards.
  • Commits to satisfying internal and external customers.
